Is the McAfee Epo agent on my computer installing updates correctly?
Environment
McAfee, virus
Answer
To verify McAfee Agent / ePO server communications:
  1. Right-Click on the Red M in the task tray.
  2. Right-Click on the McAfee Agent.
  3. Click on Status Monitor.
  4. Click on “Check New Policies”.
  5. Watch for errors in the status monitor window.
  6. If you see any errors, or a message containing “Failed to upload package ePO server”, follow the McAfee Agent fix directions below.
McAfee Agent Fix:
  1. Download epo.zip (attached).
  2. Extract all files in epo.zip
  3. Double-Click epo.bat
  4. Click Run
  5. A console window will open and automatically run the remove agent command.
  6. Once that has finished click OK.
  7. A second command to reinstall the McAfee Agent will automatically begin.
  8. Once that has finished click OK one more time.
  9. During this process, the red M in the task tray will disappear and then reappear.
  10. When it reappears, re-run the verify process at the beginning of this document.
